👗 Recital Costumes

The order for recital tutus and costumes has been completed and they are on their way to us. We will be handing these out in class a week before the recital.

 

All ballet students need to wear the following for Ballet;

• Pink ballet tights 

• Ballet shoes with their tutu

For Jazz/Acro students they will need to wear the following;

• Black Jazz shoes with their costume

Each child will also have a hair bow to go with their costume, but we will hold on to these and we will put them in the children's hair as they arrive on the day of the recital (these seem to be the things that usually get lost or forgotten from the costumes!).

Please hang tutus upside down and by the crotch to keep them fluffy!

 

🎭 Recital Day – Saturday 29 November

• Running times- each recital will last 50-60 minutes, with time to celebrate at the end of each recital.

• Food- we ask that each family brings a plate of food to share in our celebrations. Please do not bring any food containing nuts. Water, plates and cutlery will be provided.

• Arrival- Your child should arrive 30 minutes before their recital commences, with ONE adult. Doors for other guests will open ten minutes before the recital starts.

 

How to do their Hair:

• Ballet students: neat bun.

• Jazz/Acro students: low ponytail.

• Creative Movers students: low ponytail.

• Please ensure no fringe or wispy bits.

• Warm zip-front top (tracksuit/onesie) over tights to keep warm and travel safely in the car—tutus are huge!

• NO MAKE UP!. If we see any student wearing make up we will kindly ask they wash it off. 

Tickets – 

• Children over the age of two DO require a ticket. Children under two years of age without a ticket must not occupy a seat.

• Dancers do not need a ticket and will be asked to sit at the front of the hall and watch the other dancers perform. If your child is not able to sit independently, please keep them on your lap in the audience.

Photography and Videography

This year there will be no videography and photography permitted during the performance. We will be taking care of this for you! Please, please, sit back and take in every moment of your little one's dancing! We know your little ones will much prefer to see your smiling face in the audience than a sea of phones!

We will have staff canvassing the audience asking those that hold their phone up to please turn them off.

Supporting little dancers

We will have 3-4 teachers in the wings/backstage this year, so we will be happy to take your little one and dance with them on stage so you can sit in the audience and watch them dance. If your little one is really feeling too shy to come up without you that is fine too, during the stage rehearsal we will show you how to get around the stage so your little one can dance to you and next to you without you having to perform!

Certificate Photos

Classes between Thursday 23rd October and Saturday 1st November will be our photo days. Please dress your child in their full uniform or favourite dancewear and we will take their photos for their certificates. We will be taking individual photos this year so we will do our best to accommodate children that are absent that week. Please make best efforts to attend your regular class.

Stage Rehearsals

Between Saturday 22nd November and Friday 28th November rehearsals will be held at the North Perth Town Hall, 24 View Street, NOT AT THE STUDIOS. These rehearsals are in lieu of your normal classes.

Due to many logistical factors, we have had to ask some classes to rehearse on different days/times during this week. We would really appreciate your support in making any different times/days, but if it is not possible we will do our very best to offer your child another opportunity to practice on the stage. Rehearsals will run for 30 minutes.

The hall can be very cool, especially in the mornings, so please dress your child warmly.
